This is all speculation
Here are some players who possibly could be had. I'm only focusing on one position: Centre
David Legwand - Nashville, $4.5 million
After a hot start the Predators have dropped 5 in a row and now they sit at 5-5-3. They miss Jason Arnott (he's currently leading NJ in scoring), and part of the reason they're struggling is because of an injury to Matthew Lombardi. A lot of pressure is on David Legwand (the highest paid player on the team) in this situation and he's just not performing. 2 goals and 3 assists in 13 games, and a -4 (worst among Preds fwd's). Legwand is a guy who i could see Nashville moving as a shake-up trade.
Andrew Cogliano - Edmonton, $1 million
Another shakey start for the Oilers, and another shakey start for Cogliano. Just 1 goal so far this year. I could see Edmonton exploring the option of trading Cogliano before his value gets lower.
Danius Zubrus - New Jersey, $3.4 million
With Parise placed on LTIR there's not really any urgency for Lou to move any of his veterans anymore. But I still think Zubrus could be had. He's a C/LW guy, and mostly plays wing, but i'll include him here regardless.
Max Talbot - Pittsburgh, $1.05 million
With Letestu, and Comrie both outperforming Talbot he's kind of become expendable in Pittsburgh. Despite and injury to Jordan Staal which should have benfitted Talbot, his ice time is down to 12-13 minutes a night. I could see Pittsburgh moving the struggling centre for more depth at wing.
Patrick O'Sullivan - Carolina, $600k (two-way contract)
With the emergence of Jeff Skinner (sometimes a winger) and the continued improved play of Brent Sutter, on top of already having Eric Staal, this O'Sullivan pick up is looking redundant for the Hurricanes. Sully has only appeared in 7 games this year, with 1 goal.
This is all I could come up with for now.
